To many times I have heard people say i need search engine optimization and yet they really had no idea what search engine optimization really was.

To start this article I want to make sure that every reader understands that I am in no means an expert in search engine marketing. Right or wrong I tend to draw a very clear line between search engine optimization and search engine marketing.

I believe that optimization should strictly deal with methods for enhancing your site internally to better facilitate your marketing plans and strategies for your business online. So moving forward under this principle how does one enhance their search engine optimization and why is it important?
